How can We Pray for Couples Experiencing Infertility?
As I shared my infertility issues with my sister on the phone, she asked if I was praying for other couples with the same predicament. No, I had not thought about it, but I started to pray for others experiencing infertility from that day.
With National Infertility Awareness Week in progress, April 20-26, it’s a good time to ask God to help the 1 in 6 people worldwide struggling with this disease. Will you consider adding them to your prayer intentions? Let’s pray about it now.
Lifting up those suffering from Infertility
Lord, we call out to You about our infertility, along with couples all over the earth in the same situation. You designed our bodies in Your perfection—we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Your plan from the beginning of creation was for us to “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.” (Genesis 1:28)
We want to have children, but there are elements of this world that have affected our ability to get pregnant and carry a child to delivery. We know You have not caused this abnormality. Use this difficult season to draw us closer to you and build our trust in You. You are a faithful God. You can do the impossible. (Luke 1:37)
Please heal us, Jesus according to Your will and perfect timing. We want to raise children who will bring glory to Your name and expand Your kingdom. Shower us with Your grace. We plead Your Precious Blood over our bodies. Help us find the best medical care to correct our reproductive systems. Fill the minds of the specialists who treat us with Your wisdom and knowledge. Take authority over any issues interfering with our ability to conceive and safely carry a child to delivery.
Bless our marriages and equip us to meet this challenge with steadfast faith. Let us pray together with our spouses, support each other with our medical procedures, and love each other unconditionally. We ask that our infertility experiences honor Your creation and will for our families. Amen.
